About Susan Larson
Susan spent over 15 years working in the high tech industry doing everything from product marketing and public relations to usability testing and user-centered design. She currently works at NatureBridge, a San Francisco-based nonprofit. As Director of Communications she is responsible for bringing the NatureBridge brand to life, combining the organization’s vision, mission and values into simple, bold and motivational messages that engage and motivate supporters and set the organization apart as a leader in the environmental education community.
Susan is happily married to Derek. When they met in 2000 her first thought was, “cute guy, I bet he’s a really good kisser.” But she was about to leave the country for two years so she would have to wait to find out. They didn’t have their first date until 2004. She was right though, and he was worth the wait. He’s a great kisser! They were married in 2010 by their dear friend Lynda at Bean Hollow State Beach near Half Moon Bay, California.
A native Californian, Susan enjoys the outdoors. One her favorite things is hiking in Big Basin State Park. She is also a Habitat for Humanity volunteer and has recently completed builds in Cambodia and Mongolia. She’s currently considering where her next Habitat build will be.
This blog is Susan’s experiment in finding her voice as a writer. Start here to learn more about Susan and My First Draft,
